About Me

Hi! My name is Melissa and when I was little, I couldn’t say my name all the way. It got shortened to “sa sa”. There isn’t much of a story to it, but my husband liked that about me so he uses that as my nickname and it has spread out to my crafting life.

I live in Seattle and love everything about it. I love our weather, our city, our surrounding mountains and rivers, lakes and islands, ocean and cityscape. Maybe it’s because I grew up here? Early May 2009 I ran off with my fianceĆ© Bryan and we were married in Mazama, WA with only our parents present. It was perfect.

Sasa Bear is my crafting blog. This is my journal dedicated to my adventures in knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking – and anything else that seeps into my life under the category of craft. Some of my girlfriends help us keep a monthly yarn-related (knitting/crocheting/anything you want to bring) get-together going, and I love those nights! Hopefully this blog will be focused on my knitting and crocheting, but I love to be in the kitchen so some food creations will slip in too.

Thanks for stopping by!
